Payroll Specialist

Job Description:

This is a position primarily responsible for accurately processing bi-weekly payroll.    There may be some cross training on accounts payable related tasks in the future, of which the company will provide training. This position requires a cooperative approach with internal personnel, academy personnel, and outside vendors.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned. 

  • Provide regular updates and payroll bi-weekly
  • Reviewing timesheets 3x a week
  • Cross referencing timesheets to the schedule
  • Generating a weekly labor hour report
  • Tracking non-paid labor that we get from the state (TSEs – Transitional Subsidized Employment)
  • Additional labor related tracking and analysis tasks will be given in the future
  • Prepares payroll and all payroll tax returns on a timely basis.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Key Qualifications:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

Experience

  • 2–3 years of proven payroll processing or accounting experience.
  • Demonstrated history of supporting US-based business operations.

Technical Skills

  • Intermediate Excel proficiency (report generation, data analysis).
  • Foundational knowledge of accounting principles and regulatory payroll requirements.
  • Familiarity with Paycom or similar payroll platforms (preferred).

Shift / Hours:

Monday – Friday Payroll Period – 11PM to 3AM; Operating hours are subject to adjustment as additional duties are assigned; however, the role will maintain its night shift requirement.
