The reflections in this article are drawn from the closing speech of our CEO, Cherry Villanueva Orlina, delivered during MCVO’s 9th Year Virtual Anniversary Event held on April 18, 2026. It offers a look back at how MCVO was built, the challenges behind the growth, and the values that continue to shape the company today.
Where It Started: Distance, Not Certainty
Nine years ago, MCVO did not begin with a perfect plan.
It began with distance. 8,000 miles of it.
In her closing remarks, our CEO reflected on what it meant to build something from afar—without structure, without certainty, and without the assurance that it would all come together.
Building a company remotely in 2017 was not just inconvenient. It was messy, uncertain, and at times overwhelming. There were no guarantees, no polished systems, and no illusion that everything was already figured out.
What existed instead was belief.
A belief that real opportunities could be created for Filipinos.
A belief that a company could value people just as much as performance.
A belief that something meaningful could be built, even from afar.
Built on People Before Process
In those early stages, MCVO leaned on a small but deeply committed support system.
As shared during the recent address, family played a role in helping carry the vision forward when things felt unclear. From a starting team of just eight people, the company slowly began to take shape.
Some of those original team members are still part of MCVO today.
That does not happen by accident.
It happens when people feel they belong to something—not just work for it.
The Growth No One Sees
Looking at MCVO today, it would be easy to assume the growth came smoothly.
It didn’t.
As reflected in the speech, there were setbacks. Difficult decisions. Moments that required stepping back, resetting, and rebuilding.
But those moments did not break the company.
They strengthened it.
Because growth is not always about moving forward quickly.
Sometimes, it is about staying grounded when things get difficult.
The People Behind the Progress
This journey has never been built by one person.
It has always been shared.
From early support systems, to leaders who helped guide the company, to every employee who chose to stay and grow with it—MCVO’s story is shaped by people who showed up consistently.
It is built on:
- Commitment
- Trust
- A culture that continues to put people first
That foundation continues to define the company today.
More Than a BPO
Today, MCVO Talent Outsourcing Services is no longer just building a BPO.
It is building something larger.
A company focused on creating real impact, developing stronger careers, and forming long-term partnerships—particularly with U.S. businesses looking for reliable, people-first outsourcing support.
As emphasized in the closing message, the goal is not just expansion.
It is intentional growth.
With the 2026 theme, “Making the Impossible Possible,” the direction is clear:
Not just bigger. Better.
Growing With Intention
At this stage, success is not measured by numbers alone.
It is measured by:
- The kind of company MCVO continues to become
- The opportunities it creates for its people
- The impact it delivers to clients and partners
These are not always the easiest things to quantify.
But they are the ones that matter most.
The Road to Year 10
Nine years in, and the story is still unfolding.
As highlighted in the closing remarks, this milestone is not an endpoint. It is a marker of progress—and a reminder of what persistence and belief can build over time.
Year 10 is already within reach.
And if the past nine years have shown anything, it is this:
The journey ahead is only getting started.
Continuing the Journey
Every milestone is a reflection of the people who made it possible—and a reminder of what still lies ahead.
At MCVO Talent Outsourcing Services, the focus remains the same: building a company that creates meaningful opportunities, supports its people, and delivers lasting value to the businesses it partners with.
As we move toward Year 10, the commitment is not just to grow—but to grow with intention.
And for those who have been part of the journey, and those who will be in the years ahead, this is only the beginning.
