Position Overview: There will be some catch up / clean up as there hasn’t been a full charge bookkeeper for a while. Additionally, the firm is on QuickBooks Enterprise and wants to convert to QuickBooks Online
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Take the lead in the transition from QuickBooks Enterprise to QuickBooks Online – timing TBD
- Itemize and categorize firm business credit card statements
- Manage accounts payable and coordinate vendor payments
- Reconcile operating and savings accounts on a regular basis
- Maintain accurate financial records and internal reporting
- Prepare organized financial documentation for the firm’s CPA
- Assist with tax preparation coordination and required filings
- Monitor firm expenses and maintain organized digital financial records
- Ensure compliance with accounting best practices and law firm trust accounting standards (experience preferred but not required
- Provide balance sheet/profit and loss reports to management on a monthly basis.
- Track expenses and report on fluctuations.
Key Qualifications:
- 8-10 years of Bookkeeping experience
- Intermediate excel Intermediate Excel and Google Sheets
- Strong attention to detail
- Reliable
- Prior bookkeeping or accounting experience required (professional services or law firm experience nice to have)
- Strong familiarity with QuickBooks or comparable accounting software
- Experience reconciling accounts and managing accounts payable
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality with sensitive financial information
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently
- Comfortable working directly with firm ownership
