Senior Bookkeeper – Law Firm

Position Overview:  There will be some catch up / clean up as there hasn’t been a full charge bookkeeper for a while.  Additionally, the firm is on QuickBooks Enterprise and wants to convert to QuickBooks Online

 

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned. 

 

  • Take the lead in the transition from QuickBooks Enterprise to QuickBooks Online – timing TBD
  • Itemize and categorize firm business credit card statements
  • Manage accounts payable and coordinate vendor payments
  • Reconcile operating and savings accounts on a regular basis
  • Maintain accurate financial records and internal reporting
  • Prepare organized financial documentation for the firm’s CPA
  • Assist with tax preparation coordination and required filings
  • Monitor firm expenses and maintain organized digital financial records
  • Ensure compliance with accounting best practices and law firm trust accounting standards (experience preferred but not required
  • Provide balance sheet/profit and loss reports to management on a monthly basis.
  • Track expenses and report on fluctuations.

 

Key Qualifications:

  • 8-10 years of Bookkeeping experience
  • Intermediate excel Intermediate Excel and Google Sheets
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Reliable
  • Prior bookkeeping or accounting experience required (professional services or law firm experience nice to have)
  • Strong familiarity with QuickBooks or comparable accounting software
  • Experience reconciling accounts and managing accounts payable
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality with sensitive financial information
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently
  • Comfortable working directly with firm ownership
